Harry Kalas was a sports announcer for the Philadelphia Phillies and narrator for NFL Films. Kalas was known for his "Outta here!" home run call. He received the 2002 Ford C. Frick Award from the National Baseball Hall of fame.
On April 13, 2009, the Phillies President David Montgomery reported that Kalas died at the age of 73.

Mark "The Bird" Fidrych was a former Major League Baseball player. He was a starting pitcher for the Detroit Tigers. In 1976, he was named the American League Rookie of the Year and was also selected to the American League All-Star team in 1976 and 1977.
Fidrych was found dead on April 13, 2009, laying underneath a pickup truck at his Northboro, Massachusetts, home. He was 54 years old.
